Schoolwide Learning Goals-SLGs

Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication
“From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive.”  Proverbs 16:23

Demonstrate the ability to know and to comprehend course materials
“Behold, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it.” Job 13:1

Demonstrate cooperation by working together to accomplish shared goals
“For as we have many members in one body, but all members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them…” Romans 12:4-6a
Demonstrate creative initiative through the inventive use of resources
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying. ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.  Enter into the joy of the lord.’ Matthew 25:20-21

Critical Thinking
Demonstrate the ability to collect, analyze and apply information using critical thinking skills
“So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding.” Proverbs 2:2
Demonstrate growth in good judgment, integrity, honesty, excellence, justice and other essential virtues
“And besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." II Peter 1:5-8

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Christ-like behavior and a Biblical worldview
“Christ is the exact likeness of the unseen God. He existed before God made anything at all. Christ himself is the Creator who made everything in heaven and earth, the things we can see and the things we can't; the spirit world with kings and kingdoms, its rulers and authorities; all were made by Christ for his own use and glory." Colossians 1:15-16

All subjects at Calvary Chapel High School are taught from a Biblical worldview as defined by the Calvary Chapel Statement of Faith
